A field of
phallic hyacinths
pushes upwards
from
the fertile earth.
The stamens of
hibiscus flowers
protrude
from
bright pink petals.
The blossoms of
the lilac trees
raise proud and heavy
heads.
Nature reverberates
with symbols of
desire.
And yet we
denigrate
these denizens of
Life.
We loathe and fear
our natural
com-passion.
Nature cries
from life to life.
A song
that is not divorced
from God.
But living in
a happy marriage
consummating
the ardors of
Love.
