Human Rights.

Gay Rights are Human Rights.

The only organization I know that treats Gay Rights as Human Rights is Amnesty International.

It would seem that this secular organization has a better understanding than most religious organizations.

The religious are digging in.

And by doing so they are alienating more and more people.

Rev. Roger Ray said that the Church is too often the tail-lights when it should be the headlights.

And that is why the Church is dying.

One.

There is only one supernatural being.

And that is God.

Everything exists in God.

The universe is a masterpiece of recycling.

Nothing ever dies.

It is just transformed.

There is no duality.

There is no devil, and no dark powers.

Evil in our world is a product of fear.

We have free will.

And we make mistakes.

This is how we learn.

But help is always available.

God's Love is there for us if we ask.

There is nothing to fear from God.

God is Love.

And God is One.

Death is Not.

Rather than thinking in dualistic terms of life and death we should be thinking of inanimate objects as undergoing transformation.

For example a dead branch on a tree is not in reality dead it is transformed as fuel for a fire into heat, or as wood for a table, or it decomposes as humus to help trees and plants grow and flower and produce fruit.

When the soul or spirit leaves the human body it lives on in the Life of God.  The body decomposes as fuel or humus in the same way.

So nothing ever dies.

It is just transformed.

And science verifies this.

E=MC² 

Matter is not dead it is full of energy.

So God, as the Life of the Universe, grows, flowers, and transforms but never dies.

Death of Death.

The famous hymn that states: "Death of death and hell's destruction", instead of the traditional deadly sins and burn in hell, is closer to the truth than Orthodox Theology.

When you make contact with the Living God the Life and Light and Love that emanate from Him see the death of death and the destruction of hell.

Because we see that death never existed and there can be no hell.

The Love of God transcends our primitive ideas of Dualism - death, the devil, hell - and His Light shows us the Reality.

God is One.

God is all Good, all Life, all Light, and all Love.

He does not punish us.

He does not judge us.

He loves us.

So there can be no death.

And there can be no hell.

The old hymn turns out to be correct.

Gay God.

Is God gay?

This may sound like a silly question.

But most religions depict God as masculine.

And most of those beloved of God are men.

So is God gay?

Rumi, the Islamic Sufi poet, wrote about the intoxicating love of God.

But his mentor, the one who introduced him to these ideas, was a man - Shams-i-Tabrizi.

Their love is legendary.

And the poetry is beautiful.

God loves men and women equally.

He is our Mother/Father.

So it is not altogether outrageous to characterize God as gay.

He engages in same sex love relationships.

And He embodies all kinds of love.

Including gay love.

All people are made in the image of God.

God is heterogeneous.

So He may also be homosexual.

Gay Scapegoat.

The attempts by some high-ranking Cardinals in the Catholic Church to blame homosexuals for the child sexual abuse scandals is yet another example of the Church's seemingly endless capacity to avoid responsibility for what has taken place in its own organization.

Some have called for homosexuals to be banned from the Church.

As if this would somehow solve the problem and absolve them of guilt.

How they can blame homosexuals for the sex slavery of nuns I don't know.

Homosexuality is not pedophilia.  

Sex between two consenting adults bears no resemblance to the abuse of minors.

 

The Catholic Church seems hell-bent on avoiding the question of sexual repression caused by celibacy.

The only way to overcome sexual abuse is to change the Church's teachings on sex.

A healthy, positive approach to our human sexuality is the only answer.

So instead of avoiding the issues and looking for a scapegoat the Churches should look to their own abusive teachings and doctrines. 

Only then will the abuse stop.
