The Father.

"'Lord, show us the Father,'"  John 14:8 (NRSV)

This is what the disciples asked of Jesus.

Could it be that they did not know the Father?

The disciples often misunderstood Jesus - coming as they did from a strict Jewish Orthodoxy.

But Jesus was unorthodox.

He said that the world did not know God.

So what can we say of God?

God is transcendent - beyond sin and evil.

God is beautiful and sublime.

God is wholly good.

God does not judge or punish us.

God is merciful and forgiving.

God is our loving Father.

Pool of Light.

God's hand has prepared us to receive His Light.

Gone are the fears of judgement and punishment.

Gone are the delusions of Dualism.

Gone are the lies of literal interpretation.

Gone are the expectations of Natural Justice.

In their place are: mercy, forgiveness, compassion, generosity, benevolence, faith, and hope.

But it is the concept of unconditional love that opens the sanctuary of our hearts.

Love God and love your neighbor.

Love even your enemies.

For God's transcendent Love is for everyone.

Black is Beautiful.

I am black and beautiful.

Rightly do they love you.

Your love is better than wine.

Your eyes are like doves.

Your arms rounded.

Your body ebony.

Your legs like massive columns.

No one compares with you.

Rightly do they love you.

Our Love.

We will not always be loved.

But when love is gone.

We can open our hearts.

And give love to others.

Food of Life.

As human beings we are engendered by love.

Love is the Food of Life.

Without love we shrivel and die.

With love we grow and blossom.

Back to the Future.

With the advent of the Millennials we may see a return to the idealism of the Baby-Boomers.

At last the Sword of Damocles will be lifted and we can be ourselves again.

My advice to the Baby-Boomers is to go back to the beginning - before you were reconstructed - and recreate the peace and love of the early days.

I would also strongly advise that we don't follow celebrities and rock stars of dubious virtue.

It was these who betrayed us in the first place.

Covert Satanism in the form of Aleister Crowley's teachings infected rock bands from the 1960s and 1970s onwards.

So we can return to the idealism of peace and love without the curse of rock and roll.
