A Higher Power!

To the world it seems that corprorate plutocrats are all powerful.

But there is a Higher Power!

The Powers.

In his book Engaging the Powers Walter Wink says that the powers of this world are fallen.

By this he means that they are corrupt.

I would say that the powers are undeveloped or unenlightened, crude, brutal, and ruthless.

They are captives of existential fears.

Fear of poverty, fear of failure, fear of challenge, fear of justice, fear of the masses, fear of loss, fear of death.....

"God has forsaken the Earth" they say.

"We are masters now."

But the powers are not gods.

They are human beings like you and I.

And they are prey to the same fears.

If they had faith they would know that God provides and they need not guard so jealously their wealth.

As if they never had enough.

So pray for them.

Pray that they will overcome their fears and open their hearts to their workers - their sons and daughters.

Only then will the world change.

Corrupt.

Deregulation relies on self-regulation.

And self-regulation is no regulation.

In this environment the management of multi-national corporations have corrupted themselves and lied to everyone.

Without government regulation the temptations of power and money are too great for them.

This can be clearly seen in Report of the Royal Commission into Banking in Australia.

Corruption and kick-backs are rife through all the major banks.

And the Commissioner's Report recommends strong regulation.

And make no mistake this corruption spreads throughout the whole of the business community.

It will take prosecutions and jail terms to stop them from taking advantage of everyone.

To save then from themselves.

I breathe in

the Breath of Life!

Oxygen animates

my heart!

Rainbow.

"God said, 'This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.'"  Genesis 9:12,13 (NRSV)

God promises never again to try to destroy all flesh.

This rainbow is the symbol of the Gay Community.

And now that AIDS is over it symbolizes the covenant between God and gay people.

And all the peoples of the Earth.

Religious Objections.

Now that AIDS is no longer a death sentence religious objections to homosexuality are severely compromised.

Christians cannot now invoke death as justification for their prejudice.

And if AIDS was proof of God's disapproval of homosexuality then what does the curing of AIDS mean?

It can only be a sign of God's Blessing.

And this is my experience.

God does not discriminate.

He accepts gay men and women as we are.

And He loves us as He loves all His Children.

So those who still cling to religious objections should now take another look at the issue in the light of contemporary knowledge.

Free at Last!

AIDS is over!*

Gay men are free at last!

No one can say we deserve death.

No one can say we are evil.

No one can say we are going to hell.

God loves gay men.

We are His gay Sons.

And a good father does not reject his gay sons.

Heaven awaits us.

AIDS is over!

We are free at last!

[* Doctors can stop HIV from developing into AIDS, HIV when treated is undetectable which means you can't pass it on, and there's PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) - a pill which can stop you catching HIV.]

Drunk.

Fundamentalist religious leaders are drunk.

Drunk on power!

And power corrupts.

They enforce absolute power over their converts and expect absolute obedience.

And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

"We shall be as gods" - the first temptation.

Pray for them to see.

See that God's representatives on Earth are not powerful potentates but humble lovers of humanity.
