Face Facts.

The Church cannot afford to continue to hold a nostalgic view of the past.

To romanticize Christendom and pretend that because most people attended church the world was perfect and spotless is tantamount to delusion.

It was not.

The Churches were riddled with hypocrites and pedophiles.

It was "a jungle out there".

And there were two world wars.

Christian missionaries abused thousands and destroyed indigenous cultures all over the world.

When will they face facts?

To continue to congratulate ourselves on how good we are in the face of a public image which is morally bankrupt is the road to disaster.

The Christian Churches are dying.

When will we wake up and face facts?

Praise be to Thee

Creator of the Universe.

From Thee come all things:

The tiny seed.

Majestic mountains,

Great rivers,

Deep seas,

Teeming with abundant Life!

The earth brings forth green trees

To flower and fruit;

Animals and birds populate Thy garden

Sharing consciousness and hearts with Thee.

And human beings, born to praise Thee,

Walk upon the fertile earth.

The heat of the Sun,

Forming spiral galaxies,

Heaven.

Gay men go to Heaven.

Of this there is no doubt.

If you still cling to archaic texts and modern prejudice then you are on the wrong side of history.

You will be consigned with the likes of slave traders and anti-Semites to the greater condemnation.

Gays and lesbians will enter the Kingdom of Heaven before you.

And God will welcome and honor us.

So give up your fear and hate.

And melt your hearts of stone.

Gay men go to Heaven.

Gay.

Homosexuality is love.

And as such homosexuals are no different from anyone else.

We have hopes and dreams like you.

We live and love and follow our happiness as others do.

So now that AIDS is no longer a death sentence and same-sex marriage is legal and can be celebrated in some churches we look forward to an age when we will be equal.

No longer will we be spurned and blamed by society.

No longer will we be damned by religious people.

No longer will we be second class citizens.

But we will live in peace and safety without harassment.

And look forward to our place in Heaven.

Fear.

So what is it that corrupts the tenants of God's House?

By making Jesus the Christ they created an absolute which gave them absolute power.

And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But I believe that the major problem is fear.

Fear of God, fear of sin, fear of sex, fear of women, fear of homosexuals, fear of punishment, fear of judgement, fear of humanity, fear of hell.....

These are the things which cause all the trouble.

But, you ask, why doesn't God tell them?

The answer is that He does.

Periodically God sends a messenger who has developed a better understanding to prophesy to them.

But they won't listen.

They attack the messenger and kill him.

"'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it!'"  Matthew 23:37 (NRSV)

This is what Jesus meant when he said: "'For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, "Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord."'"  Matthew 23:39 (NRSV)

So, if we are to instigate an improvement, we must address their fears.

One of which is fear of criticism.

We must proceed gently with constructive criticism which does not trigger their fear of challenges to their authority.

This is itself based in fear - the fear of being wrong or of displeasing God which would result in hell.

Which is fear itself.

But there is no Hell.

God does not punish our mistakes.

God forgives our errors.

God shows infinite mercy.

God is All-Good.

He is our loving Father.

And we are His Children.

Soft-Left.

I aspire to being soft-left.

The heart is on the left side of the body.

To have a soft heart is the ultimate virtue.

And left-wing politics manifests compassion and justice.

This is in line with the prophets.

So I aspire to being soft-left.

Children of God.

One of the women at my church said something to me that was quite helpful.

She said: "You are a Child of God too."

As I am openly gay this was quite significant.

And so gays and lesbians are Children of God also!

AIDS Panic.

After the glory days of the 1970s gay people experienced the effects of the fear and panic triggered by the AIDS crisis.

Suddenly we were under attack - we were spurned, blamed, and shamed.

Whole generations turned against us.

Religious people damned us.

And secular people shunned us.

This was mitigated to some extent by the gay-friendly movies of the 1990s.

But AIDS was still a threat and the reaction has hardened into a snub-nosed prejudice which is hellbent on reforming homosexuals.

Now HIV can be stopped from developing into AIDS no one dies of AIDS anymore.

So the knee-jerk reaction of society no longer has any foundation.

Our task remains to educate this last remnant of AIDS panic and restore gay people to their rightful place of equality in society.

The Water Carrier.

The symbol for Aquarius is the Egyptian hieroglyph for water.

And the hieroglyph of a jar ab means the heart.

So the jar that the Water Carrier holds is his heart.

And the water that he pours from it is love.

Aquarius.

The Age of Aquarius brings with it a Utopian vision of the future.

It envisages a world where everyone is equal.

Where everyone has enough to eat.

Where help flows freely to those in need.

Where governments reflect the will of the people.

Where people give generously to the poor.

Where businesses and governments are honest and work towards the common good.

Where people are enlightened and live in peace.

And where unconditional love guides God's Family of Humanity.

Now.

What we have to realize is that we are not just here to have a good time.

We may have been abused for attempting to save the world.

But to be reduced to economic consumer units is no life at all.

We are distracted and exploited.

We follow dubious celebrities.

And we are obsessed with sports.

These may be socially acceptable pastimes.

But where is the value in that?

Resurrect your ideals.

Reconstruct your philosophy.

The Age of Aquarius is upon us.

Drugs and Degradation.

Once we realize that the negative aspects of the Hippie Generation were induced by Satanic rock bands it becomes clear that we have nothing to feel guilty about.

Peace and Love and Social Justice are strong elements of religion.

Sex and drugs and rock and roll are Satanic.

So give up your drugs, respect yourself, and throw away your rock albums.

Rock music is Satanic.

And its fruit is suffering.

Reclaim your souls.

And be free at last!
