Black Rock.
Have you noticed that rock musicians wear black?
This is a symbol of death.
Death is the state of separation from God.
It is brought about by sin.
So do not listen to these rock bands.
They desire your death and damnation.

Magpies.
If pure white doves represent good.
And pure black crows represent evil.
We are forgetting black and white magpies.
These are also evil because they disguise black (evil) with white (good).
This is backwards and forwards, upside-down and right-side-up. upright and inverse.
If you see these black and white images, these backwards and forwards tunes, these upright and inverse words, know that these are evil disguised as good like black and white magpies.
This is their evil magic with which they hope to bewitch us and control us. To make us transgress and sin.
But God will not punish us.
You will be forgiven and rescued if you turn to God for help.

The Devil's Music.
As long ago as the 1960s rock music was being called the devil's music.
At the time most of us passed this off as an overreaction by religious fanatics, mostly in the United States.
But as I learn more about it I am beginning to believe that they were right.
Rock bands use astrology. But if you study it more closely you will realize that it's backwards - they only use the negative interpretations of each planet and sign.
This is done on both an individual level and a generational level.
They may use some positive images to rope you in (this is called a hook) but they will soon be turned negative.
So peace and love became pleasure and sex.
Freedom and equality became drugs, promiscuity, and insanity.
Passion and power became casual sex and pure evil.
Sexual equality became dominance, intimidation, and castration.
The spiritual search became witchcraft and magic.
Look more closely at the words and images.
You will find a lot of negativity there.
And don't be put off by a white cover.
This is merely to mislead you.
So now its not so much that I believe in the devil but that the rock musicians themselves believe it.
And that's why rock music has negative effects.
Jesus said, "'No good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit.'" Luke 6:43,44a (NRSV)
The fruits of rock music are: drug addiction, criminality, promiscuity leading to divorce, rebelliousness, sex obsession, mental illness, suicide, blasphemy, and death.
Rock music is the devil's music.

Side-Tracks.
Once you are on the spiritual path you will find that there are many side-tracks.
People will tempt you, even try to force you, onto one of these side-tracks.
They will try to win.
These side-tracks include:
moralism, legalism, right beliefs, Biblical inerrancy, End-Times theology, Spiritual Warfare, traditionalism, and churchianity.....
People can spend the whole of their lives on one of these side-tracks.
Usually they are inspired by fear.
Fear of punishment, fear of damnation and hell.
But if you stay on the path of Love you will know that God does not punish us so there can be no hell.
Simply ask yourself, "What does my heart say?"
And you will be Home.

Family.
We are all members of God's family.
Even our enemies, even those who have committed terrible crimes, even those who have rejected God and embraced evil.
We are all brothers and sisters in the Family of Humanity.
And God Himself is our Father.
Jesus said, "'And call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father - the one in heaven.'" Matthew 23:9 (NRSV)
It is our job to be reconciled to those around us.
Not to judge others or reject them.
Not to punish others or make war.
It is up to us to make peace with our brothers and sisters.
And pray for their well-being.

Theosis 2.
"'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.'" Matthew 25:40 (NRSV)
Far from separating us from the people around us the process of union with God (theosis) brings us into closer relationship with others.
God is telling us that He is everyone, even the least.
When asked which was the greatest commandment Jesus answered, "'"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."'" Matthew 22:39 (NRSV)
Then he added, "'And a second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."'" Matthew 22:39 (NRSV)
So the love of God which brings about the marriage which is said to be the purpose of Life is reflected in our love for those around us.

Theosis 1.
God wishes to be in relationship with humanity.
He offers us a New Covenant.
So we should be about our Father's business.
And this business is theology.
One of the concepts of theology is theosis or union with God.
This is brought about gradually once we have established a relationship with God (traditionally through baptism) by purification (katharsis) and contemplation (theoria).
Questions about the nature of God and His relationship with humanity are foremost in Progressive Christianity.
We are experiencing a revolution in the way we see God and humankind.
Love purifies the heart.
And it is love that unifies us with God.

The Adversary.
One of the reasons for the decline in church attendances, and faith in general, is that religious leaders are unaware of the adversary.
They don't know what they're up against.
The Adversary is the meaning of the Hebrew name Satan.
I don't believe in a being called Satan but Satanism, which began on a large scale with the rock bands of the 1960s, now spreads through all of our popular culture - from rock music to movies to reality T.V. and sports.....
We are constantly tempted, poisoned, distracted, and brainwashed by those who work evil in our world.
And one of their objectives is the demise of the Christian Churches.
So if you aspire to perform God's work in the world you must include some counter to the barrage of evil put out by the adversary.

Truth or Lies?
Why would people embrace Satanism in our modern world?
The answer is that what they present to an unwitting public seems more wise, more compassionate, more sensible than what religious people espouse.
If the only religious material presented in the media is hardcore fundamentalism with its bigotry, prejudice, sexism, homophobia, violence, judgement, hell, and hate then anything will seem more sensible.
The problem is that what the public sees in popular music and entertainment is lies.
It is a mistake to take what you see at face value.
It is a hook - a seductive image put forward to lure you into their power.
And once they have opened your mind to them they feed it with negativity, sabotage, malice, and evil.
So don't be fooled by popular music and entertainment - they are only in it for the money.
Seek and find a truly positive and compassionate philosophy.

Heaven.
When we realize that God punishes no one we lose our fear of damnation.
If God does not punish us there can be no hell.
What then of heaven?
Heaven is traditionally a reward for good works.
But if we think of heaven as God's Love, which is extended to everyone, we see that there might still be a heaven.
And as this heaven is not a reward for good behavior it might just be for everyone.
When we approach God our mistakes are forgiven.
Everyone makes mistakes.
It then becomes a matter of degree*.
But God punishes no one.
So all will be forgiven.
Even those we don't think deserve forgiveness.
So we may just see them in heaven.
*See Luke 7:41-43.

Crucifixion.
When we think about Jesus' death on the cross it is significant that the people who killed Jesus were the powers of the world - the Romans and the Pharisees.
This is significant because it is the powers of the world who have usurped the authority of God. And it is they who have instituted the religion of rewards and punishments.
The purpose of this carrot and stick religion is not to obey God but to keep the masses under control.
So if God were to send a messenger who announced the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth it was they who stood to lose the most.
So, not wanting to lose their power and privilege, they killed Jesus and stole his religion.
It has been said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
But Jesus said, "'And call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father - the one in heaven.'" Matthew 23:9 (NRSV)

Messages.
From the moment we are born we are inundated with messages.
Messages from our parents, our family, the T.V., the radio, billboards, politicians, rock stars, movies, the news, art, literature, school, and society.....
These messages may contradict each other or cause conflict and suffering.
It takes us half our lives to sort these messages out.
Some are from people of goodwill.
Some are from people who want to exploit us.
Some are from people who want to control us.
Some are from people who do not have our best interests at heart.
Many people never sort these messages out at all.
They go to their graves believing lies.
So how do we sort these messages out?
Ask yourself, "What is the motivation behind this message?"
The answer will be enlightening.

Relativity.
The criticism of Progressive Christianity - that it is relative, and we only see what we want to see - is irrelevant in the end.
If we are projecting our Post-Modern values back onto the historical Jesus does this really matter?
For example Jesus believed in spirits and demons as an explanation for illness. Does this mean that we should believe this now?
Medical science dismisses demon possession entirely and there is little evidence to support it today.
Jesus may have been racist and homophobic.
Does this mean that we should be racist and homophobic today?
I would suggest not.
So, whether our assessment of Jesus is relative or not, the Post-Modern version of the historical Jesus remains our best guide to spirituality in the 21st Century.

Gay Love.
When gay people say that it is love they feel for their same-sex partners they are not pretending.
The hate is on the other side - the religious people and the God they worship are the proponents of hate.
So gay people may say they are atheists.
They may even say they are hell-bound and support the devil.
This is not surprising.
But it is not their fault.
The fault lies squarely with the religious fundamentalists who claim to speak for God when they say that God hates Gay people.
So keep on loving.
Even if love is in hell.
Love will save you.
Because Love is the ultimate Reality.

The End.
In about 5 billion years our sun will explode.
Men and women, in whatever form we exist, will cease to be.
It has been said that in the end we all return to the God who created us.
And this will be The End.
God will break into the theatre of humanity, in the way that He has throughout history, to prepare us for this reuniting with our creator.
But, rather than our minds, it is our hearts that He will prepare, through unconditional love and trust, to be reunited with the Love of God.

Second Thoughts.
I would have second thoughts about bringing children into this world as it is at present.
The world is so dark, so violent, so brutal, so cruel.
To send a child out into the world to be hooked, to be misled, to be betrayed, even tortured is not something I wish to do.
You can explain to them what is happening, what is out there in the world, but will they believe you?
And make no mistake to be led astray into sin and transgression is to suffer, not because God punishes us but because they are false gods in which there is no love.
We can pray for our children and advise them, always be there for them, but is it enough?
We need the steadfast love and forgiveness of God.
Only in God will we find such fidelity.

Legalism.
Legalism is the bane of religion.
It is the habit of human beings to look for patterns.
And to make of these patterns universal laws.
And then to enforce these laws with rewards and punishments.
It is not at all certain, however, that these laws are universal or even correct.
But some people need certainty.
They think that God is all about rules and even if He's not then He should be.
This process is driven by fear.
Fear of the punishments they assume are associated with these rules.
Their image of God is of a strict rule-maker, perhaps like a father or a personal authority figure.
They think that people should get what they deserve.
But this is not God's way.
God forgives our transgressions and restores us to health.
He loves and reconciles us.
His steadfast love is forever.
And it is His pleasure to put us in Heaven.

The Outer Courts.
Traditionally religious leaders have preached the carrot and stick gospel of rewards and punishments.
This is to stay in the outer courts and not enter into the sanctuary.
Jesus said of them,"'you did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.'" Luke 11:52b (NRSV)
What we have to realize is that after the prophet is dead the powers of this world appropriate his message and modify it to suit their own needs.
Thus the carrot and stick religion is reinstated because it is this teaching which keeps the masses in line.
And they will try it again in the Age of Aquarius.
But the true teaching which all the prophets preached is the Gospel of Love.
This is to enter into the sanctuary, which is your own heart, and find God there.

Pleasure.
Another aspect of Satanism is its addiction to pleasure.
By claiming that all pleasure is evil they consign everyone to hell.
But this is a lie.
Jesus came eating and drinking.
He offered us life in all its abundance.
God does not expect us to renounce all pleasure and enjoyment.
All things in moderation.
This is the key.
Not the excesses of Satanism.

An Historical Context.
When I write about Satanism in our modern world I am not speaking about a dualistic view of reality I am speaking about an historical context.
I do not believe in a supernatural being called Satan.
Neither do I believe in dark gods or powers.
What I do believe is that since the 1960s rock stars and celebrities have embraced Satanism and betrayed us all with their subliminal sabotage.
Sin and transgression have become glamorous and desirable.
Bad has become good.
We are all wicked and filthy.
But it is the diabolical dream behind these things which is worrying.
Satanism is becoming acceptable, even the norm.
And people don't even realize it's happening.
So be more discerning in your choice of entertainment if you want to maintain your sanity and avoid the intense suffering which Satanism will cause.
There is a God.
And He will deliver you.

Pray For Them.
They tricked you and cursed you.
They tempted your pride.
They flattered your dark side.
And told you to hate.
But God does not punish.
He loves and forgives.
He touches our hearts.
And welcomes us home.
Bless and forgive them.
Give them your love.
The gift that you give them
will save every one.
Pray for them.

3.
It has been said that God is Life, Light. and Love.
These three correspond to the three major centers in the body.
Life = the sex organs which create life.
Light = the mind which sees.
Love = the heart which loves.
But the Soul or Divine Spark is in the heart.

The Good Things in Life.
An Indian Yogi once said to me, "It's time you experienced some of the good things in life."
My reaction was rather cynical.
I was young and, like everyone else, I had been abused.
I did not know what he meant.
But since I have established a relationship with God I have begun to experience some of the good things he spoke about.
God loves us.
He blesses us.
He rescues us.
He saves us.
It is not difficult to return gratitude for such blessings.
God touches our hearts.
And we love Him in return.
This is where the good things begin.
Love fills our lives with joy.
Love teaches us to give.
To give up our resentment and our bitterness.
Love purifies our hearts.
And integrates our personalities.
But above all love is its own reward.
"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19 (NRSV)

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?

On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Sound forth among those crowded throngs?
And did we hear Jerusalem
Among those dark Satanic Songs?

The Death.
"And in The Death....."
The Death is Death to God.
As St. Paul described it: "For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23a (NRSV)
"the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil" Hebrews 2:14c (NRSV)
"This ain't rock and roll, this is genocide."

Deeper Within.
Many religious people adhere to mental principles as the basis of their faith.
They aspire to higher and higher attitudes in an attempt to come closer to God.
And many become rigid in their understanding.
But I believe that rather than going higher and higher we should be going deeper within.
If we adopt this approach we will find our heart and follow the path of love.
In this way we will avoid the trap of rigidity that Jesus and the Buddha warned against and open our hearts to God and those around us.

What is Progressive Christianity?
What it is about:
1. How we interpret the Bible (myth and metaphor, poetry and history).
2. Original Blessing.
3. The historical Jesus (the human being).
4. The teachings of Jesus.
5. Inclusiveness.
6. Unconditional Love.
7. Life after death for everyone.
What it is not:
1. Biblical inerrancy.
2. Original Sin.
3. Virgin Birth.
4. Physical resuscitation of Jesus body.
5. Christology/Trinity.
6. Judgement/Hell.
7. End Times (Second Coming).
